A few minutes ago I just finished watching the new episode, of Inuyasha, which shocked me, because I least expected Kagome, Sango, and Miroku to die (or maybe they didnt) of poison. and right after Shippo told inuyasha that they stopped breathing, the episode freaking ended. Being someone who has watched way to much television, even I least expected for an event like that to happen. On most of the tv shows, the good guys usually dont die and they win, while the bad guys dont. My question is, why is tv like that, why cant there be a bunch of shows were unpredicted stuff happens? It would make tv alot more interesting. Whats your oppinion on this?

While I do agree with that, it's annoying that good guys are physically incapable of dying and if they are they mystically come back from the dead, it wouldn't make for much of a tv show if they didn't. Imagine for me if you will:
Our hero is running through a building surrounded by bad guys. There is a hail storm of bullets flying in his direction. He leaps to get past it! But alas, he is shot in the head. He falls down, blood everywhere, episode ends, there ends the series.
Wouldn't really make for much of a long term investment. Although I wouldn't mind one of the secondary characters kicking the bucket every once in awhile just to mix things up a bit. Some shows do do that occationally.

but imagine, one of the heros friends could suddenly gain the heros abilities and pick up were the hero left off

Well that wouldn't be very realistic. A cool idea for a tv show I think would be after a character dies the show cliffhangers and changes focus completely. Like, the character dies and the bad guys are winning, and we're wondering whats going to happen, when we notice an innocent witness with a bag of groceries. Then the story follows the bystander untill they die, then it follows someone else. I think I would enjoy that.

Well I mean it wouldn't be very plausible if they picked up the last person's abilities. Of course they could continue on whatever mission the last person was on.

All the more entertaining? lol I don't know. But if they're hanging around with a super hero they're bound to have picked up something I guess. Besides, each character would have different strengths. Imagine pokemon if ash died and brock became the main character. Why can't I think of anything but pokemen? Oh well, you get my point.

and kagome and the rest of them survived..... why does this happen almost every time? also, in that pokemon instace, there would probly be 2 main characters, or theyd just split up and the story would progress somehow

I dont watch that anymore, I used to watch it when better man was on and when they showed some of the reruns of the gatekeepers show, and when read or die was on it, but now that I think of it, I do remember one show were the main character died, but it was in the last few seconds of the final episode. Anyone remember the last episode of cowboy bebop?

Actually, its pretty much what i expect. now i know i ride my atv more than i flick channels, but ive seen enough to know that around every corner is a cliffhanger that your gonna be dying to see what the outcome is. Thats just tv.
