Anybody been hearing much about this new graffiti game, due out in June of next year?
excerpts from write up in GameInformer:
"The goal of the game is to try and capture the intense moments that come from putting your tags at the highest and most dangerous spots in the city as you try to put an end to the Mayor's rule. Imagine trying to to tag a moving train or hitting a heaven spot (the term used for the sides of buildings and bridges where one mistake could mean death) on a place like New Radius Bridge with helicopters hunting you down."
"The graffitti portion of the game is surprisingly deep as well. You can use stencils, rollups and wheat paste (posters) to get your message out. Plus, unlike say Jet Grind Radio, there is more to tagging than just pressing aq button. For example, one of the more complex tags, called a burner, has three layers you can apply; the outline, the fill and a finishing touch (that gives your tag a personal style and bonus points."
This game has a corrupt Mayor, goon squad police and rival gangs. . . . . .sounds like an awful familiar story line!!
I've read couple things about this game, but this is the first time anyone even mentioned JGR or JSRF. I saw one preview that stated that this game was the first time action, fighting and graffiti were involved in the same game (obviously, that author never heard of JGR or JSRF either).
But aside from that, the game is designed by Marc Ecko and is being developed by The Collective. The screen shots with the article look great and even though the designer and developer seem to be snubbing JGR and JSRF, this looks like a game I really want to get. . . . .but man, June 2005, is a loooooooong way off!!
