Rumor has it there will be a Final Fantasy VII-story game for the PSP, but that could just be referring to Advent Children (the new FFVII movie coming to DVD and whatever the PSP movie format is).
Anyway, I don't plan on getting the DS anytime soon. Maybe if a really good game comes out for it I'll get it. And the PSP... same story, plus Sony doesn't exactly have the best hardware track record with me, so I'll probably wait a couple years for them to work out the defects.

whoa~ let me join in this topic 1st of all, if you think PSP is better or owns DS just cause it can play movies and music, that's not true. For music, I dunno what the stereo output is, it has to have really good sound quality (like those iriver mp3 players; 18mW + 18mW) and movies? the battery only lasts 2.5 hrs according to Popular Science magazine. And plus, the screen isn't that big or atleast not bigger than the portable dvd players out there. So if you're watching an action movie, it's hard to catch all that action, and plus the sound quality of the movies? I don't think you're gonna get a bang out of that. But overall, it's a nice multi-purpose feature. OK, now for DS. So far, we have more info on DS, and what it's gonna be like, but we aren't sure what the PSP is gonna like and we don't know the exact specs for it (It'll be nice if PSP had a tech demo out). Now the Dual Screen and the Touch Screen is an excellent feature, why? It's creativeness and unique-ness and the games are gonna be unique cause of those features cause they're gonna use it to play (Metroid Prime Hunters is a good example and uses the Touch Screen with the Stylus very well). And the microphone feature, and there is gonna be a slot for GBA games too, but some of you might think GBA games are crappy, lol~ it's not just for 'GBA games,' they could use the slot to have additional features. With the Bluetooth technology, you can play and send pix/text messages within guaranteed 30 ft. but on some circumstances, it could be 100 ft., plus I heard you can go online with it, like link it to your computer or something, not sure. 16 players could play, which I think is cool.
Overall, the DS will have unique and new creative games that will be eye-catching, while PSP is bringing out the oldies (good oldies like Gran-Turismo or maybe MGS) but I dunno. I'm with Nintendo on this one, but I felt like I got ripped off when SP came out. (And the games were shitty cept Pokemon, which is boring, since it's so easy and repetitive). Really interested in Metroid Prime Hunters, but I'm waiting for PSP's demonstration, and then compare to see which one is better. Right now, people are arguing and such, but when both comes out, we'll have another debate which one is better, lol~ Check the DS demonstration out from Gamespot.com, it's amazing~!!

*just refer to rhyme's post for what I'm arguing*
no one said "the PSP will own because it plays movies"
and the screen is bigger than both the DS's screens put together. There's no sense comparing a handheld's screen with a movie screen.
who needs to send pictures 30 feet, when you could just walk over, and show the damn person.

he's stating opinion and I am stating fact
those are both true, thus they are fact. Facts are more important in debates than opinions, that is why I add them in.

Facts are more important in debates than opinions, that is why I add them in. Facts are used *in* debates... debates are arguments used to determine a conclusion between two people in a civilized way.

about the passing pictures u said it sucked hmmm....i think rhyme said it could go farther and it isnt pictures its your artwork u do on the touch screen it can go to 1 foot to 100 feet and more (many miles................away) sended to a friend and games can be played like multiplayer up to and 16 players can chat at the same time finally there is a michropone for the DS allowing you to talk to your friend while playing

good luck finding 16 DS owners all with the same game in, all hoping someone is nearby trying to connect and play with them, all within 100 feet of eachother.
As for your stylus drawings, there are proper programs and hardware for that, DS is a game machine; to me, the stylus seems like an afterthought, and if anyone wants to see digital drawings, they probably have higher quality standards than random guy on a game machine doodling faces: //=====\\ // |.| |.| \\ // \\ || ----- ||
-EDIT- that drawing didnt exactly work, but you could see where I was going with it...

still, games are cheaper than consoles, and everyone has to have a DS no matter what game you play, and thats like 150$ or something. Lack of inexpensive multiplayer is handlhelds main fault. Home consoles have split screen fun for like 20$ extra per player (controller cost), which is very cheap considering all.
