I've been volunteering at the library recently, shelving books and what not, when I stumbled across a manga labelled "The Ring."
'Oh,' I thought to myself, 'I wonder if it's anything like the movie, even though this is a strange thing to ponder since I have never seen the movie.' So I took it home, and gave it a shot. Within minutes, the story sucked me in, and I finished it within an hour.
Now it's midnight and I'm scared crapless.
This in itself is quite an accomplishment since I've been reading horror books since I was 10, and I've been playing horrific videogames since I was 9 (okay, 'Doom' isn't exactly "horrific", but it is when you're 9.) That, and I'm notoriously hard to scare. I smiled my way through "Dawn of the Dead" (which, by the way, rocked), and some Stephen King books (except "Carrie", which I frowned through because it used my name and the book sucked). But this book has given me the shakes. That part at the end-- brrr!
If you want to try it for yourself, the artist is Misao Inagaki.

Wanna see a funny movie? Watch the american version of "The Ring". The scene where the horse went insane and fell off the boat almost made me pee in my pants. Me and my younger brother almost passed out when we heard it got chopped up. The movie was funny, and stupid at the same time.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dawn of the Dead. My roommate and I had a great laugh, but somehow a friend of ours who lived one floor up was scared shitless by it. We still haven't figured that out.

thing is... I don't even think that movie TRIES to be scary, I think it's really just poking a little fun at the whole zombie genre, but at the same time, managing to not be a farce. It's fun, plain and simple.
COME ON, COME ON, GET DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS!
Anyways... maybe someone should open up a Horror flicks thread.

Yeah, the only really scary part of Dawn of the Dead was the undead baby.

ahh man~ now i wanna see some scary shiit anybody seen 28 days later? Possibly one of my favorite movies. Another Comic I did called "warehouse eight" (title inspired by Shenmue) was greatly inspired (in style of artwork) by that movie.
