I've been in the states for the last two weeks, but I'll be travelling all day tomorrow to get back to Germany, just in time for school! I'll tell you about my trip then (I'm using my cousin's internet right now, and I don't know how it's charged).
While I'm at it, I think I'll put a shameless plug in here: See that link in my sig? Try clicking it!

Most of my family's in southeast Missouri, so that's where I've been. In case you've never been there, it is a land where you MUST have something rustings in your front yard, but only if your in the boonies (that's where I've been). There's also RV permanent residences and campgrounds named after famous places such as Camelot, and a store called "Diamonds, Guns, and Furniture". Needless to say, whenever we went touring we went to ST. Louis.
ST. Louis is, without a doubt, one of the coolest cities there is. Granted, it cedes to the fact that it's in southeast Missouri and thus has a few trashy, desolate buildings (most of which I believe are on the Illinois side, oddly), but that can be overlooked with the big, colorful, sometimes cylindrical buildings. There's also Casino boats, the Busch Stadium, and something called Larry Flynt's Hustler Club. If you don't know who Larry Flynt is, for God's sake, DO NOT do a Google search!
The ride home, as was the ride there, was excruciating. Imagine not sleeping for eighteen hours. Now imaging that while messing around with air travel, trains, taxis, etc. Then, when we got home at three, I still could'nt sleep until nine (had to fight the jet lag). Not fun.
On the plus side, I gots me some shojo called "Fushigi Yugi". Good stuff. I also FINALLY got SAdv3, which made me love Sonic again. Yesh.

Wow. You must have had one hell of a time. I've never been out of state or country. I ALMOST got to Canada, we saw it, but never went there. I just seen it from my Grandfather's boat in the middle of Lake Erie. (Yes, I live in Ohio) BUT DAMN IT!!! NEVER WENT THERE!!!!!

Next time your family takes a vacation, insist on going somewhere out of state, like the grand canyon, or even out of country, if you can afford it. Europe is a wonderful place to go, because it has this air travel company called "Ryan Air" that will take you anywhere in Europe for only a couple euro. It's a comfortable ride, the only disadvantage being you don't get assigned seats (meaning if you want to sit next to someone, get on the plane fast), and you don't get fed (I think). But it only takes an hour or so to get where you want to go.

Something I would have made a mental note of too, because the guitarist in one of the bands I'm in is called Ryan Do they not serve England?

One time, i went to france and for some reason the airport didn't have customs, you just get on the plane without any hassling.

www.ryanair.ie/It looks like they serve England. My parents usually get tickets online, though.
